I was looking for a good deal on a digital scale that would go up to 330 lbs and measure in .2 instead of .5 and it worked out great because I got a postcard coupon in the mail yesterday from the "Bed, Bath, and Beyond" store which was good for 20% off anyone item !
So I checked their web site and found was I was looking for, then I called a local store to see if they had it in stock and went and got 20% off !
It is a "Thinner" model number MS-8250
(this scale also uses that new multi-sensor technology and is supposed to be the most accurate type of home scale other than the balance beam type, it is supposed to be 99% accurate)
Thinner is made by MSI corp and here is a link to the page with that model -
http://www.msiusa.com/consumers/bath_scales_detail.asp?ID=89
......now I can't wait to get down to 330 so I can start using it,
which should not be too much longer, I don't want to take a
chance on breaking the scale so maybe I'll see if I can stop by
the doctor's office next week just to use their scale to see how
much more closer I am to 330.
(I don't know if it would hurt the scale if I was a few pounds over 330 and stepped on it, probally not, but since I am not sure I guess I'll wait till I know I am 330 or less)

That's cool Gary, now you have to figure out if you're the kinda person who weighs once a day, or once a week. I do it twice daily because I like to be closely in touch with what my weight does on a day to day basis. I do occasionally freak out over large swings but that's mostly under control.

....thanks for making those available to everyone,
the one I had did have a date it had to be used by,
and it specifically said 20% off of any one item,
but coupons you get in your area allows for up to 5 items, that is great !
(it worked out ok for me since I just needed to get that one item for now)

.....well, I'll probally weigh myself at least twice a day, especially in the beginning since I expect the weight to come off quicker at first since I have a lot to lose.
As far as those swings in weight, wouldn't some of that be due to whether you just ate a meal and drank a large glass of water or whether you let some of that weight back out after a bathroom visit ? Water is relatively heavy, I think I will try weighing a large glass of water to see about how much it weighs, because after you drink it that water will add to your overall weight for a while. That is another good reason to watch the sodium content in foods because too much sodium will cause you to retain water more, right ?
It might still be another 1 1/2 weeks before I can try out my new scale because when I weighed myself at the doctor's office on Monday I was at 339 so I will probally stop by to use their scale again next week, (I'm sure they won't mind since the doctor does want me to lose weight :-) I'll tell them that I might need just one more visit after that to borrow use of their scale so I can be sure I am 330 or less and can then start using my new scale at home.
Do you think it would damage a 330 limit scale if you were 335 and tried it out ?
I don't think it would, but I guess I can wait a week and a half or so.

That's great Gary! When you weigh at the doctor's office what time of day is it and have you had anything to eat or drink at that point? Also, do you have all your cloths on? All of those things as you know would add to your weight and therefore wouldn't be your true weight. When I weigh with cloths on I subtract 5 pounds. I think it is very possible that you actually weigh less than 339.
I also weigh twice a day. Once in the morning after the bathroom and with just my light, light PJ's. Then again before bed.

I just weighed there once recently, and it was not a regular appointment, I just stopped by to borrow use of their scale, it is with all my clothes on, but I don't know if that would be as much as 5 pounds though, the shoes would probally be the heaviest, maybe I can weight a set of clothes and shoes at home to see how much they weigh and substract that from what I weigh at the doctors :-)

You'll have to let us know how you like it once you've used it! I'm on the hunt for a new one myself, but don't want to waste my money on a crappy one *lol* Good luck with it :o)

this one measures in .2 and also has the new multi-sensor technology that is supposed to be very accurate, the normal price was about $59 but with that 20% off coupon I had it only cost about $47 plus tax., not bad for such a good quality scale.
