Hi, I thought I would share my favorite junk and snack food list with you to use on a reduced calorie diet. Maybe others can share the same. These are some ideas to satisfy a sweet tooth or a junk food craving on a reduced calorie diet that are better that eating chips, or donuts, cookies, or cake:
For breakfast today I took two of those low fat, flavored yogurt (Dannon Lite and Fit) and cut up a bananna and put two tablespoons of Hershey's syrup on top. The total calories 380. One can also reduce the calories by using one yogurt, a cup of cut up strawberries and two tablespoons of the chocolate syrup and the calories go down to 250...great once a day snack or even breakfast. Taking one of the light low fat ice creams and using fresh fruit like I mentioned above and the Hersheys syrup (the regular syrup has no fat, they also make fake sugar variety which I don't care for) makes a great treat, and you will forget you are on a diet. If one is hungry for chips, one can pig out on a whole bag of Orville Redenbacher's Movie Theater Butter Lite Popcorn for 300 calories...Better yet, eat half a bag for 150 calories as the bag is huge! I also like Kraft Easy Mac in the single serving microwaveable packages as it is only 250 calories per single sevring and one is not tempted to overeat as it is already measured for you. I also eat power bars at 230 to 240 calories instead of a candy bar as they provide lower fat sustained energy. I like the peanut butter and also the banana flavors best. I also found that if I want something sweet that the Jolly Rancher suckers have only 60 calories and take an hour to eat. They sell them in a bag at the stores. Other good low calorie junk or snack foods that one can use on a low calorie diet are Walmart Great Value Ice Pops (popcicles) made with real sugar are only 35 calories a piece. They also make one in fake sugar, but why when the real sugar one is so low. One can buy frozen fudge pops that are no fat and usually 100 calories a piece (check the label of the brand), to satisfy a chocolate craving. I also like those packages of cheese and peanut butter crackers...usually come in a pack of 6 crackers for about 200 calories. More filling than chips for the calories.
Addition: One can make a baked potato into a filling meal by taking a medium one and fixing it with "Butter Buds" the kind that comes in packages that you mix with hot water. These are made from real sprayed butter in which all the fat is removed. If it tastes too light, one can melt in a tablespoon of real butter into the Butter Buds liquid (extra 100 calories though). On top of this I put 1 to 2 servings of low fat cottage cheese instead of sour cream etc. One can also put on some real bacon bits like you buy at the store in a package. Sometimes I even put real chives on it. I eat this as a whole meal as it is very filling with the low fat cottage cheese on top. You get carbs from the potato, and protein from the cottage cheese. I really like the low fat cottage cheese on it in place of sour cream. Sometimes I use something called Salad Toppings that come in a jar with the salad stuff because they will give it some crunch. I always measure everything so I know just how many calories in this meal.
Another thought. Did you know that you can drown yourself in Pace Picante sause without getting fat? Two tablespoons only have 10 calories.
Sometimes I like to get fat free tortilla chips and pig out with the Pace Picante without blowing my diet. Sure there is a limit to the amount of chips, but I believe anyone can enjoy food and get thin if they get creative in alternatives to fattening foods.
I am not saying that I or anyone else should eat junk food or snack all day, but being realistic, we all need to have fun while loosing or maintaining weight or we will not stick to it over time. The above are some of the snack food items that I am allowed on my 1500 calorie diet each day along with other more healthful foods. I believe that the secret to loosing and maintaining a good weight is about finding foods that give you the most pleasure for the calories so you can stick to the diet for the rest of your life. I think one can get and be thin without giving up the pleasure of eating. So, tell us your favorite foods on a diet, heatlhy or otherwise? Lesley

Thanks for these suggestions. I go between thinking I need to eat only healthy foods to thinking that I can't live without the junk and end up eating 1500 calories of junkfood a day.
This is not working for me. Just in case someone thinks they can eat 1200 - to 1500 calories a day of mainly junk food and lose weight - think again! Boy it's taking me a long time to get this through my head!!!
Snack ideas:
(1)popcorn
(2)low fat hot chocolate with Splenda in it to make it even sweeter
(3)small juice glass (1/2 cup) of low-fat ice cream with a little chocolate syrup - I have a little baby spoon left over from feeding the children when they were young and I use this little spoon - makes the ice cream (or anything) last longer - you can do this with other foods as well
(4)pretzels
(5) nuts in the shell - sure takes a long time to get that nut out of there
(6) If you are going to eat a donut or something you would ordinarily eat with your hands put it on a place and cut it up - lasts longer
(7) If you live with someone who does not have a weight problem then try to buy sweets that you don't like. I can't stand nuts in any kind of chocolate so that is what I buy for him - he's happy and I have no desire to eat his junk.

My favorite is on your list! Movie theater butter popcorn, I get the mini bags and it's 175 cals for the whole bag. I used to down a big bag every night but my stores for some reason only sell the little ones now. Another favorite is any Smart Ones ice cream and ooooo (drooling) fat free pringles! I get the sourcream and onion ones 70 cals for 15 of em. Last night I had a lot of calories left so I downed all the pringles =) I do have to confess that I am a Snickers lover, I have a bar almost every day 280 cals but so worth it to me. Also I found Oscar Meyer fat free hotdogs that are only 40 cal each and taste pretty good too.

I like the yoplait orange and cream yogurt, tastes just like a creamsicle.I also like alot of foods mentioned above.Sugar free jello is great and only 10 calories for 1/2c.For a treat,I like the Little Debbie rasberry angel food bars, only 130 calories and fat free.
For stuff I make at home,I like to place fatfree coolwhip between 2 chocolate grahams and freeze.Kinda like an ice cream snadwich. Also place about 1/4cup of homemade sugar free pudding(made with skim milk) into dixie cups and put a popsicle stick in the cup.Freeze and enjoy. And each pudding pop has only about 50 calories.

1..i love low fat yogurt with a tiny bit of granola crushed up in it.
2..sugar free jello with diced peaches and apple chunks is a must for me. you could always put a dollup of fat free whipped cream on top.just one dollup. ;) tis why i never buy the cream. i cant stop with just one dollup
3..take an apple, core it, cut it in half, sprinkle a little splenda and cinnamon on it and bake in the oven or microwave for a bit.. mmmmm very good.
these are by no means are junk foods though. especially the yogurt. its very good for you. They still make me feel like ive lived on the wild side for a moment. Without the guilt!!
