Just out of curiousity. Does anybody do aerobics here, like cardio kickboxing or step? I see a lot of people talking about the stationary bike, or walking but not to much mention of classes.
Last week I started doing a variety of aerobics classes at the YMCA, b/c they're free with my membership and I love them!! They motivate me to go to the gym much more and I always feel absolutely exhausted after them. I feel as though I get a better work out than if I were to do the bikes or elipticals for 40 minutes.
Does anybody share these experiences and feelings?
Thanks!

I have an exercise bike! I couldn't wait to get it and used it only about 3 times in 1 year. Now it's my hubbys turn with it and I think he actually uses it. I prefer to do aerobics. I do 70 mins of Disco Sweat by Richard Simmons and I love it. He cracks me up which gives me more energy. I've never tried any other workouts but his, they are fun. Then some days on top of the aerobics I walk for 45 mins or bike ride for 1 hour or play tennis for about 45 mins to 1 hour. I find that using the machines gets boring for me real quick.

Hi CJ! I used to do step all the time, like 5 or 6 times a week, then slacked off for longer than I care to admit. When I started going back to the gym this past June, I tried a couple of aerobics classes and found that I got entirely too winded to finish the hour but I was also smoking then too. I haven't been back yet, I'm waiting until I lose some more weight to try again but I do love step class!!

don't wait until later to exercise...start now and your endurance will pick up and your weight will go down faster...go to the classes and just do whatever you can...I promise you will improve very quickly.

I would be nice to go to classes; but I can't help thinking that the TIME EXPENDED in getting ready, driving there, waiting for the class, and then coming home again can be better spent elsewhere. For now I just roll out of bed, throw on my gear and knock back my exercise during the first hour or so of the day--then I'm on to better things. But that's just my opinion.
