Question: If I do 30 situps in the morning and 30 situps at night, is the value as doing them all together. Same question goes for treadmill stuff. Can I do 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening..is that the same as doing it all together??

your going to get as much benefit doing 30 sit ups once or twice a week let alone twice a day...muscles need rest and time to grow and recuperate...2 times a week is plenty and will yeild the same if not more results...remember sit ups wont give u a flat stomach your basically working a muscle you need cardio to get rid of abdominal fat...as far as cardio on the treadmill goes, two 15 minute sessions is the same as one 30 minute session in terms of your fat loss but research has shown splitting them up like what r asking increases your VO2 max...your VO2 max is basically your lung oxygen capacity..it kind of determines how winded u get and how quickly...athletes have a high VO2 max and therefor fitness...two 15 minute sessions will help you with this more than 1 30 minute sessions and they will both yeild the similar fat loss or calorie expenditure to put it more technically.

Well... while I'm no expert on the subject, I would have to wager that doing your exercises all at once would likely be more beneficial. The reason I say this is because of the way muscles work. When you force them to do work, they require energy. The mitochondria located within your muscle cells, are your little energy suppliers. They provide your muscle cells with ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which enables your muscles to do work. Your mitochondria use glucose as a catalyst to develop ATP for muscle use (this is just the lamens version incidentally... there's a little more to it than that, but you get the point right? :)) ). Basically, the more you use your muscles in a given time span, the more glucose the mitochondria will need to generate ATP, sooo.... if you work out all at once (be it treadmill or weights or crunches/situps) your body will be forced to supply more glucose at once to the mitochondria to generate ATP -- but the train doesn't stop here.... your body can't just keep randomly generating ATP.... especially if you're working hard and breathing a bit hard; your body switches to lactic acid instead of ATP... it's a faster 'energy making' mechanism, but it deprives your muscles of oxygen. This is why you feel sore the next day after a really good work out.
So basically, the above is why working out BEFORE you eat is more effective... since you have nothing readily available to burn, your muscles will use ATP, and when that runs out, they'll use lactic acid and you'll get more for your time put into exercising. Anyhoo, that's just my take based on what I"ve tried myself and read about. Hope it helps :))

I've lost 50 lbs by walking and eating healthier. Let me tell you that by walking, and walking and walking some more - you'll be toned out just fine.

Hello, well, my opinion... and again it's just my opinion, is that to really tone up all over, you need keep exercising your whole body, cardio and weight training... so walking is good but you need to do light weights, stretching etc and exercises like sit ups to really tighten up the muscles. If you want faster results, try eating really high protein but low fat foods like fish...haddock is good, salmon is farily good, sole, etc. Also, egg whites are REALLY high in protein, just hard boil them and remove the yolk (the fatty part, although strictly speaking the yolk is good for you, but to really cut out the fat, you need to remove the yolk). Hope this helps :))
