I did my karate class last night, then did a short strength training session this am, I know I push as far as I could cause my legs are feeling that "fatigue burn" witouth being sore...Anyhoo I can`t remeber if I mention Shanen`s score for the piano exam, she got a first class honor with a score of 86%..She tought she would get much lower cause she did have one major mistake where she lost her spot in the piece completely and struggled to get it back...We are very proud of her...Her piano teacher said that the RCM does score strickly that she should feel good about her mark...G

Good for you on the workout! And great for your Shanen on her piano score! I know you must really be encouraging her, for her to make such an achievement.
I'm sure I've mentioned my baby, age 17 is a pianist. She has had so many opportunities because of it. I would have to say the two biggest were an all expenses paid trip to Hawaii to accompany a choir, and her pianist job in a resturant making $20/hour at age 16, plus tips. She's paying for her two month plus trip to Europe with the tips alone.
When I compare that job to jobs I did when I was sixteen (or even now for that matter), I have to think all her hard work practicing paid off.
Her lifetime goal is to be a stay at home mom, and teach piano lessons. Sounds like a nice life to me.

My mother was a "stay at home" Mom who gave piano lessons after school. What it did for us, the children, was to instill a great appreciation for all typs of music. I play the piano a little, enough to enjoy it myself, but your daughter sounds like she could do anything with her talent!!

Wow! So much talent! The only musical instrument I play is the radio.

Souns like a plan...She will probably be a very good piano teacher, she sounds dedicated to being a pianist...I think that the best reward as a parent (for me anyway) is to sit and listen to the new piece just learned and just be so darn proud I don`t get sick of hearing it over and over again...G

Yes, It's beautiful having a house full of music. Were it not for my daughter, Iwould not have been exposed to so many different composers and kinds of music.
One time my wife an I took some friends out to the resturant where she was playing. and I was engrossed in the conversation, and I remember thinking how beautiful the background music was. Then I remembered it was my kid playing and it really warmed my heart.
