Just wondering how you were doing these days. I have never broken a bone but it must be hard to all of a sudden be put on the "reserve list". Hope things are going all right for you.

Thank you so much for asking. My wrist was incredibly painfull at first. They are trying to make a decision as to whether they will need to do surgery on it.
It's kind of discouraging because if they do need to operate, that will mean pins and screws and pretty much starting all over with the healing.
Working one handed is such a pain, literally. My good arm is so sore all the time. Sometimes I don't know which hurts worse.
Things are getting better thouigh and I'm feeling better too. I got a bike trainer so I can work out riding. And I have been doing some eliptical as well. I have been reading here, but typing with one hand is difficult and I don't have much positive to offer right now.
Things will get better soon I am sure!
Thanks again,
Eric

Geez, you poor thing. I broke my jaw once and had surgery a few days later, so I think I know what kind of pain and stress you are talking about--it really, really sucks. I can't believe you are still working, but I guess you don't have much of a choice. As an attorney, I worked with my mouth, and when my jaw was wired shut, it sure was a lot harder to tell lies and half-truths.
Tell your doctors to get their butts in gear and make a decision, so you can start to get well and get back on your bike. Good thoughts coming your way.

Funny that you should be the first to answer as I have been worried about you and thinking about you a lot. I hope you are having more up days than down.
How did you break your jaw?

I've been concerned about you, too. Unfortunately, in my case, more down days than up, and all my doctor can say is "just hang in there a little longer." $+! Heart test on Friday, results the following Wednesday, and then probably some more waiting . . . . So, life basically sucks.
But enough gloom. How I broke my jaw is kind of a funny story. I was in a hurry to get to work, and was running across a street to beat the light, when I tripped and fell flat on my face. I was wearing flat canvas rubber-soled shoes, but my natural grace allows me to injure myself no matter what precautions I take. Somebody picked me up and asked if I wanted to go to a hospital, but I was too embarrassed. So I did the next best thing--spat out some tooth chips, took a shower and slathered my scrapes with Neosporin, and then drank three glasses of Chardonnay with a handful of Advil. And for several hours, that worked pretty darn well--until my boss and my secretary dropped by to make sure I was ok, took one look at me, and called 911. My plan to continue the Neosporin/Chardonnay/Advil regimen until I was healed was firmly vetoed by my boss and the ambulance crew, backed by thinly veiled threats of legal measures. So it was off to the emergency room for me, followed a few days later by surgery, and then several weeks of misery during which I sometime wished that I hadn't called in injured to work and had just kept chugging Chardonnay and guzzling Advil. I did appreciate the Vicodin, though.
I believe that this story confirms my status as Queen of the Self-Medicaters.
Feel better soon, and be careful when you exercise. I'll be sending no-surgery vibes your way.

Ouch! Man that's a good story but it made my stomach hur. And that's a lot of hurting. Gees that sounds awful, but if you can get through that, then I guess you can get through this, and so can I.

Oh Elizabeth Ann,
