I checked out that web site you posted for the cyclocumputers. Now I'm confused! There are so many kinds with so many funtions. Please help. What do you have and/or recomend? I was hoping to find one that tracks calories burned but apparently there isn't one or if there is, I can't find it.

Hey Lady,
I got the cheapest cyclocomputer they sell ($8.99?) just to keep track of total Mileage, Miles Per Hour, and trip distance.
My buddy has one that keeps track of Cadence (RPMs) which he says helps him stay in his targeted heart rate zone.
That makes no sense to me as heart rate and calories burned will vary with gear, or ground level. I think if you want to keep track of calories burned on a bike you have to use a heart rate monitor. I think I bought this one a year ago, and it still works well:

I was shocked to see how much work riding a bike is. It is very compareable to the elliptical and I thought it was much easier.
I ride for an hour and 36 minutes and don't think I could do the elliptical for that long. Yet I burn slightly more calories on the bike per hour.
Good luck and good riding,
Eric

I have a cyclometer that measures distance, time, and average speed (among other things). These three numbers I then take to various websites, input them, and then get the calories I burned. I'd be happy to share the sites with you if you want...
