I am 14 and a female. This summer my goal is to lose 30 pounds and it didnt have to be done by school but preferably it would be good. I began to eat very little because of the caloric intake. I eat a small bowl of cereal half the serving. lunch I eat a salad which is 105 or I eat something else healthy small never exceeding 300 cal I dont snack on chips and stuff like that in front of the tv anymore and my dinner I eat normal serving of at least one type of veggies, a protein, and some carbos. I jog one mile on treadmill (105 cals usually) and 1 hour of aerobics (300 cal) 6-7 days per week. Iknow I am getting a lot of nutrients because I eat all the food groups during the day. But my cal intake is still extremely low and I dont feel hungry. If I am hungry I drink some water and I'm fine. Do I have a disorder or something. How do Iknow if my metabolism is high? O ya and have lost 5 pounds since school ended which was on May 31. I am also doing things to keep my muscles in shape I know I dont want to lose any muscle. Thanx hope ya can help

It is not healthy to eat too little. Your body will realize that it's not getting enough food, and will go in a "startvation mode" - trying to preserve fat instead of losing it. This is how we are designed - many many years ago when people were living in the wild and had to hunt for their food those survived whose bodies could last through the periods of famine. That's how our bodies evolved - to burn less calories during times we are not getting enough food.
