 Duh... (off topic)

I figured it out (I think)

I think I've figured out WHY it is I've been getting so depressed lately. Well, I don't handle stress very well at all. I just don't. Can't describe al my reactions, but stress and I don't get along.

Anyway, I didn't REALIZE that I work in such a high stress environment! I didn't figure it out until yesterday (It never occurred to me.) I work with a bunch of people who are cranky, rude, inconsiderate, and demanding.

Big deal? Lots of people have to work with people like that? Yeah, I know. But since they are all related to my boyfriend, the desire to be accepted by them is generally a little bit stronger.

And I definately feel anything but accepted. I feel rejected, scorned, chastised, and disliked. Just because they can't "play nice." I didn't realize that I've only been getting this depressed since September. That's when they all started to let their ugly heads rear up and be awful people (not just to me but to eachother too.)

Anyway, I don't like being unhappy. My JOB itself is great, but the people I work with treat me like crap and like all their own personal assistants... so I decided that as of January 1st, I quit.

I've already been going around and getting applications at nearby school districts to get my emergancy substitute certification. I'll turn them all in on Monday and Wednesday. Hopefully from that point I can get a couple of interviews and get hired by a district. My hometown has 13 elementary and middle schools all in one single district, so I think getting certified there would be my best bet if I wanted to get called a lot.

Anyway, yeah... I'm happier just thinking about getting out of my current job. And the wonderful thing is, I can say I quit because I want to go into the education field (which is very true, I've been wanting to be a sub before I start teaching) instead of saying "I quit because people are mean."

LOL. Anyways, if you made it this far you kick butt. I'm talking too much! I think I'm done, too...

I've worked with people like that before. People that thought their you-know-what didn't stink. I liked the job but I hated my co-workers, so I got out.

You'll be happier getting away from them and especially since they're related to your boyfriend, life will be so much easier for you not having to deal with them every day.

Good luck! :)

The things that make us eat is why we're here. It is obvious that you (like me) are a stress eater. If your job is causing that stress, then it is realted.

I'm happy for you. I work with a lot of people who are miserable but have so much time, money and education invested in their careers that they can not move or change. I don't necessarily believe that if you do what you love, the money will follow but you have to have a job where you feel like you are making a difference. If teaching gives you that feeling, I couldn't be happier for you.

Now that you're going into teaching, I thought you might in joy this (which is really off topic):

I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. I remamber you posting that! LOL!!! it's still cool.

Teaching IS what I want to do. The district I want to go to starts off at $33,000 a year for new teachers. It might not sound like a lot but where I live the cost of living is VERY LOW.

Hehehe... gotta love small town USA, right?

Well, I think I'm going to be a lot happier in general once I get out of my work situation. I know I'd be just as unhappy if the peopel I worked with WEREN'T my boyfriend's family. I just can't be around mean people.

And I definately agree that people should have a job where they feel like they are making a difference. I have felt that way as a tutor, and I know teaching brings that same feeling.

My job now... it doesn't matter how hard I work or anticipate the needs of others or ANYTHING... I am never thanked, rewarded for hard work, or anything. no one seems to notice. If I finsih all my work at 430 and have little to do until 5, I get yelled at. Talk about not making a difference, huh?

Jeez, my job sucks. : P

Yes it will. I'll only have to see them on MY agenda... LOL.

LOL, not only am I getting out of that job, but I've also talked to my boyfriend and he's decided to get a house FAR from his parent's house... so that when I move in (still planning on it, things are looking up again) I won't have to be near them... for emotional reasons. Thank god!

Wow that is cool, I read that thing straight through with no problems. Actually I was halfway through before I realized that everything was mispelled.

That makes me feel a whole lot better now. I am a terrible speller and now I know that you all don't really notice! And if you do, well don't say anything..lol
