Ok, I've been wondering what exactly is better for your body. If you don't eat and spare the calories or you do exercise that counteracts the calories being taken in?
For instance, isn't it better to eat extra fruits and veggies and burn off that 100 calories then to not eat them at all? I would think this would help your body get stronger. Just curious, thx!

It's better to eat fruits and vegetables and to exercise to burn off the calories. It has worked for me. I've lost 18 pounds since Jan. 5. :) Give it a try... btw--drink lots of water too!!

Hi,
I'm no Guru, but my trainer told me that you have to eat in order to burn calories, The less that you take in after a long period of time your body will start saving calories because its not getting enough. I am currrently on a 1400 cal a day intake, my trainer recommended that I up the cal intake one day every 2 week, he calls it my cheat day. I hope this helps, This learning to eat sensible thing is tricky (lol)

As far as weight loss goes, your body doesn't care, as long as it doesn't end up with an extra 100 calories to store as fat. However, you do need a certain minimum number of calories and a balanced diet to maintain your health and nutrition needs, and exercise has a ton of benefits. But there are only so many hours in the day, and exercise doesn't burn nearly as many calories as a lot of people think, so after you've met your body's reasonable nutrition and exercise needs--it's easier and healthier just not to eat the extra 100 calories in the first place.

I eat a little bit of something every couple of hours during the week at work. It's now the weekend and I feel slugish... (I haven't been eating every two hours) I think eating often really does help.. oh well, that's just my opinion.

Eating often doesn't necessarily mean you're eating "extra"--depends on how you distribute the calories throughout the day. A lot of people seem to find that frequent small meals help keep their energy up. My doctor told me it's a blood sugar thing (doesn't seem to make much difference for me).
