I have a question about the Grapefruit diet. When it says you can have any amount of meat prepaired any way, does that inclue breaded meat? For example: Breaded chicken breasts, chicken nugets and chicken strips.

No, it just means straight forward protein...if you eat breaded stuff it has carbs in which would probably screw up the diet, as it is chemical and probably a lot of breaded stuff is not getting pure protein but filler and carbs. On the diet I have here which is similar it says to stick exactly to the plan and as it recommends or it will not work at all. I'll try to type it up next week and post it. It isn't low carb and may be helpful to those that don't like a low carb diet.

Ok thanks for the info :). I'm doing a little one week trail run on the grapefruit diet to see if it works. I hope I loose weight and not gain any from eating so much meat all the time!!

This isn't the Grapefruit Diet. The real Grapefruit Diet can be found at

Checked out the grapefruit diet and it looks ok to me. It seems to say protein in any type not any amount so I guess that is ok.
If your not a grapefruit fan and want to do something similar though, I guess the Greenlane Hospital diet is another option. I don't like the bitterness of grapefruit--I would be screwing my face up as if I were eating a lemon.
Could you add sprinkled spenda I wonder because that is not sugar but would surely take the tart out of the grapefruit. hmmm........

Well it also says that instead of the grapefruit you can also drink 4oz of 100% grapefruit juice. My sister in law and her co workers followed this planned and while her co-workers lost weight, my sister in law had to quit b/c the juice broke her out in a rash.

I keep reading about how all of you are compalining about the "grapefruit part" of this diet. Is there something wrong with me or am I the ONLY person on earth that actually LIKES it?!?!!?!? Grapefruit is like my favorite food in the world... lol. And yeah, I'm on that diet as well. It's day #4 today so no results yet. I think...

I think most people do not like grapefruit. As a matter of fact, in order for the people I know to eat it they have to put sugar on the top. I'm much better with grapefruit juice (although I bought a thing of it in October that is still pretty much full in the refrigerator)

Well to be honest... I had to CHOKE the stuff down the first few days, but since I've been off the carbs... I actually find it rather sweet... hard to believe huh? Anyhoo, I do like it now, but hated it at first... ok, so maybe that's weird. :P
