I do alot of sports( basketball, cheerleading, cross country, track) and when I do all of these sports,I thought that it would help me lose weight, because of all the running. So does doing sports help me lose weight?? Thx Krista

Yes, but you seem to be doing activities that are really great for cardio but not so much so for muscle building. You need to do both in order to maximize your weightloss. I'd suggest doing light weights, situps, pushups, etc. or, try a martial art, gymnastics, dancing, yoga, which focusses on stretching your muscles and building them up, even if it's only a bit. That might help you. Just a suggestion, it's helped me a great deal. I started a light weights program as well as cardio and lost 42 lbs in 9 months. :))

sport is movement...movement = good...because most sports involve a stop-start motion they arent as good as cardio but by all means a heavy roster of sports like your doing will help you lose weight...ofcourse diet is going to be the limiting factor...you have to eat less than your body requires to maintain its current weight...and guess what? weight loss!
