HELLO ALL: I would like to know if fruit calories turn to fat. Coz I've decreased the amount of complex carbohydrates and increased the amount of fruits and vegetables in my diet in order to accelerate weight-loss but i've noticed that some days when i eat a little bit of more fruit than usual i feel like bloated or fatter. Please tell me if calories from fruits like pineapples, apples and grapes turn to fat, and if i should drecrease the amount of fruits i eat in the day.

Basically, a calorie is a calorie, and fruit calories turn to fat just like chocolate calories if you eat too many of them. "Healthy" foods aren't necessarily nonfattening. It helps to find out how many calories are in various foods to see how much you can eat. Fruit can have a lot of calories in it. Vegetables generally have fewer calories, so you can generally eat a lot more vegetables than you can fruit without gaining weight. Hope this helps.

Any time you eat more calories (from any source) than you burn the extra calories will be converted to fat. There are some slight differences in how efficiently the body can convert various types of food but not enough to worry about.
There are 3500 Calories in a pound of fat and about 125 in an apple. It would take a lot of apples to create enough fat to make you feel bloated. Fruit contains a lot of water, that may be what makes you feel bloated but it will have no long term effect on your weight.
The calories in fruit mostly come from sugar and other forms of simple carbohydrates. The calories in vegetables mostly come from complex carbohydrates. So if you are eating fruit and vegetables you are eating carbohydrates. Most people (myself included) feel that complex carbohydrates will make you feel full longer and are therefore better than the simple carbohydrates. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables now and it does help me maintain my weight. There is nothing wrong with carbohydrates as long as you do not eat so much of them that you consume more calories than you are burning.
