 Dizziness during exertion?

I started a new medication regimen a few weeks ago, which is wreaking havoc with my walking program. First, there's the low energy level--I was walking 3 miles at 3mph, no problem, planning on going faster, now I can barely drag myself 2 (at least I'm still going about 3mph, with difficulty). But the worst is that this past week, I started having problems when I go up hills, even relatively small ones (the only time I really push myself to my limit on my walks). My vision seriously clouds up/darkens/gets spotty, I get a hissing noise in my ears, and I get very weak and dizzy, almost passing out sometimes. I called my doctor and he is pretty sure that it's a medication side effect, as am I, but he says that nothing I'm taking is known to commonly cause this sort of problem. He thinks it may be at least partly a blood pressure fluctuation. I have an appointment Wednesday.

Does anybody else get these symptoms when they exert themselves? And if so, what is the cause, or better yet, the solution? Thanks.

tricky question....since its happening with the introduction of the new medication, you could probably say it has something to do with that...the real question is though, is it the pills themselves or is it the pills influencing other parts of your body (like your blood pressure) into doing this?....if these pills are making you dizzy and such, then i would be off of them or atleast perhaps change brands maybe...or if its something u require, i would ease exercise back in and not go all out...pretend to be at a poor fitness level, and start it all up again and work yourself up to something managable...on this medication you obviously cant get away with doing the same exertion as your used to...for now drop the exercise back down, and add increments slowly to your exercise until your back to normal without side effects...but above all else see what that doc says..it could be the pills messing with things like your blood pressure, in which case you would have to question the requirement of the medication altogether.

Happens to me often when I grapple

Like tonight I was grappling really intense for 5 minutes then I just stood around and that whole dizzy/sick/lightheaded feeling kicked in about 10 minutes after that. What does it take 10 minutes for all that to come into play? After I sit down I get alright but ... I dunno, .. i know mine is blood pressure related .. lol.

Thanks, Gym. I'll take it down a notch and try to rebuild. Unfortunately, I've tried going without the meds, and that did not work out. Curse my uncooperative body; know where I can trade it in for a better model?

I'm thinking maybe it's a blood pressure thing with me, too.

i have passed out a few times...nothing physically wrong with me, that i know atleast since i had heart checks and such, but i do believe stress was a factor in making me flop to the ground...and this was after a simple game of basketball...so dont worry, ya not alone ;)
