Hi!
For the past few weeks, I've been trying out several breakfast options, low-cal, yet filling. The fact that I'm a vegetarian made the process more difficult. None of the breakfast options were filling, and I would be hungry at work by 10:30 and begin nibbling on biscuits.. This morning, I had porridge (with oats) for breakfast...and man, was it filling!! I felt full until noon! I think this discovery has been a boon for me..and complemented by fruits and milk, it really is quite a sumptuous breakfast...I read that oats have soluble fibre, therefore rate high on the satiety index. They stick to your ribs and give you a full feeling..I can vouch for it!
Just thought I'll share this...
take care.

Oatmeal is also a whole grain, so very good nutritionally. I have oatmeal porridge a couple of times a week.

I have porridge here everyday and mix x3 egg white's in it to get my protein portion. Very nice too...my little ones love it. I think people have a trndency to think "gruel" and miss out on a wonderful tasty breakfast a ot of the time. I make it up with a pinch of salt and sugar and skimmed milk and the egg whites and there has to be less than 200 calories there actually.
