 Differant kind of challenge...who`s in?
Author: simply trying

This week`s challenge is of a differant kind....

I dare you to come up with 5 positve changes that`s happen since you started your journey....The reason I`m doing this is because we all , at one time or another, tend to be hard on ourselves and it is time to stop and think of the good stuff for a change...

Here are mine....

#1-I can sit in a chair witouth feeling the fat rolls pushing on my lungs and making it hard to breathe...

#2- I have not taken asthma inhalers in a very long time because of my health improvements....

#3- I can get up in the morning after a decent night sleep witouth having to suffer from back pain.

#4-I can look at myself in the mirror and actually smile and like the person I see smiling back at me...

#5--I have found in me a very strong person, I`ve lost the insecurities and gained the self confidance...

#6--I can deal better with what comes my way...

#7--I have a better tolerance and understanding of who I am as a human being...

#8-I`ve realised that I can keep moving forward even after some set backs...

#9--I`ve found strength and confidance through a group of generous and kind people who were not afraid to offer support on this board...

#10--I no longer take things for granted and know the meaning of working for what you want....

I like this idea.

1. I fit into my clothes better.

2. My resting heart rate has gone down.

3. I eat less to feel full (it may be the same amount as before but I recognize it now and stop eating.)

4. I have more confidence in myself.

5. I am generally in a better mood throughout the day.

Freshman 15 didn't happen til summer break. Now I'm down to my weight when I was a freshman in high school. Junior High here I come.

1. I can sit Indian-style or cross my legs again (sitting with one leg over the other) without being uncomfortable.

2. I can actually feel my ribs and my collar bones again (I forgot I had them).

3. I'm getting back into some clothes that I haven't worn in years.

4. My blood pressure is normal and my chest pains are gone.

5. When I get dressed, I just throw on whatever I feel like wearing instead of standing there for a half hour picking through this shirt and that shirt and deciding against them because I know they will make me look fat (most of my clothes are too big on me now).

6. I can get up off of the floor much quicker without having to prop myself on nearby furniture and pull myself up a little bit at a time.

7. People are starting to notice my weight loss and they tell me how much better I look, which is even more inspiration to keep going.

8. I've learned that I CAN discipline myself and I CAN control what I put into my body and that I DON'T have to eat it just because it's there.

Yes, the moods, I forgot about that one. I was always in a lousy mood because I just wasn't happy with myself. I'm in much better spirits these days. Another one I should have added; I'm not tired all the time anymore.

I like your #5....That is so frustrating to stand in front of the closet and try on one top after another or change pants because the original outfit you had in mind simply is too small and then you find yourself going out feeling miserable and ashame ....I don`t miss that feeling !!!

I don't miss it either. But, like I said, I've still got about 50 more pounds to go. And the more weight I lose, the less I feel that way :)

My body probably could use another 20 lbs lost...I`m not so concerned about when it will happen if I just keep making efforts to have a healthy lifestyle...;D

#1. It's empowering to know that I can do something this significant. If I can do this, what else can I do?

#2. Influence ... my husband is thinner, my daughter is getting a handle on her IBS, my youngest son is running and lifting my weights.

#3. I'm not getting older at the alarming rate I was a couple of years ago. I'm flexible and don't run out of steam as quickly.

#4. It's good to be in tune with your body ... to have a better understanding of how it works.

#5. No heart-burn.

#6. My legs don't ache after work.

#7. I shopped in a funky, trendy store the other day. And actually bought a couple of things.

#8. I actually fit in interesting underwear now and it don't look bad!

#9. I asked someone to take my picture the other day. Over the several years preceeding my 'befores' I got my picture taken at the ministry of transport and maybe four other times, under duress.

#10. On a professional note, my knowledge of human anatomy and nutrition has increased a huge amount.

Well 11 is not a nice round number and I went a few over five (what? me long winded?)... some days when it feels like life is pushing you along winding bumpy roads and your steering is loose ... it's good to remember you have control over something. You have the disciplinary and strategic planning capabilities to handle ... awesome things.
