Is it possible that drastic changes in your diet can affect your periods? It's almost the end of the month and I haven't started my period yet and there's absolutely no chance that I could be pregnant.
What I mean by "drastic" is I changed my eating habits overnight. One day I was eating fast food, potato chips, loads of pasta and other junk and the next day, after a visit to my doctor telling me I had high cholesterol and high blood pressure, I cut fat, backed off on carbs (although I still eat pasta and rice on rare occasions), cut my portions almost in half, and have dropped 15 pounds.
I may be a little premature in wondering about this, since I can't remember exactly how many days it's been since my last period, but it's just something you 'feel' when you know it's coming and usually I've started by now. I may still start, but just in case I don't, I'm still wondering if dietary changes can affect your period and if so, will it ever come back?

Dieting/eating right/exercising, has DEFINITELY affected my periods, but in a positive way.
When I weighed 260 pounds, I hardly ever had a period. On the rare occasions I did have one, I had terrible pain and got very ill. Between periods, I suffered PMS horribly. Can you imagine having PMS for a straight 5-6 months??
Now that I weigh 130 pounds, eat right and exercise, I get my period every month, like clockwork. No pain. I don't get sick anymore. PMS is still there, I have yet to figure that out.

Well, I still haven't started and I should have by now.
I guess maybe I should do some research and see what I come up with.

hi hun.... sorry i didnt respond sooner.... been busy :)
any stress, change, illness can change your cycle if you are sensitive to it.... some women find that they are very sensitive to fluctuations in hormones and even TEENY TINY changes/stresses can have them off a bit in the cycle.... other women are like old faithfull and no matter how much happens they never change....
i know you have been under stress (trying to loose weight because of health problems and suddenly changing your habits is a big stress to your body.... even if they are GOOD changes!!!!!) so its entirely possible that its just stress related..... missing one cycle is no big deal.... if you miss two you should go to the doc..... if you are concerned you can call your gyn and ask them :) and they can reassure you :)
hugs
good luck

Stress, yes, I've definitely been under that. Not just with my diet and weight, but with other things too that have been worrying me like crazy. I've been cranky lately as well.
Thanks, Jenn, I appreciate your response :)
