Ok let me try this again. I have seen a lot of posts concerning quick weight loss diets. There are lots and lots of diets out there that will make you lose weight. I think people will have better long term results if they learn to eat right and exercise. That's my personal opinion. Let me explain what I mean when I say eat right. Eating right means, eating the things that were given to us from nature, in their natural state. Lean meats, veggies, fruits, and grains. Does anyone think God intended for us to be fat? I'd say not! He gave us all that was intended for us to eat. It's when we start adding the man made processed foods, that the problem comes in. Also, our bodies were designed to work a certain way. Why do we keep trying to change nature by making short cuts. Your body will do exactly what it was made to do. It may not do it as fast as you want it to, but trust me, it will. I think anyone wanting to lose weight, should learn how your body works. All you need to do is read. You can find a lot of information online and in magazines. The basic info you need, is learning how your metabolism works, understanding calories, understanding fat(good vs bad), understanding healthy foods, and understanding exercising. That's just the basics. Once you understand those things, anyone can and will be successful in weight loss and good overall health. Again, these are my personal opinions, and they are not intended to offend anyone, nor does anyone have to take my advice.

Derrick, I was not offended by you. I failed at Atkins. I lost 17 pounds in two weeks, and was so excited but the carbs oh those delicious carbs called to me. Plus for me Atkins got to be really really expensive. Meat is not cheap, and if you want any true varity (lobster and crab for examples) it gets more and more expensive. That aside, I did gain back the weight I lost (not completely until I got pregnant).
I also tried the surgery diet and I did lose a lot of weight. But I didn't stick to it, like you should, and again I gained back the weight.
Lifestyle change is going to have to be the route for me. I hope that way I will finally stick to it.

I know what you mean about Atkins being expensive. I've always cut corners, finanually, by adding lots and lots of carbs. Big bowls of pasta with a little bit of meat sauce, big plates of rice with a little bit of chicken. When you're young and have a young family sometimes it's all you can do.

Sort of like Luna's except you can only eat a small amount and you do have a few carbs in there. I can't remember the exact diet I had it written down and tossed it, when I failed. The only good part to me was the 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream. I know it involved tuna and like one slice of bread.
Anyway it's for patients to lose alot of weight quickly for surgery. The foods are supposed to chemicaly balance each other out. You do it for 3 days, then you eat what you want for 4 days then back on it. I was just so hungry for those 3 days.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

???? Works for me? No it didn't work for me, tried it 4 years ago. It worked while I was on it, but when I quit I gained the weight back.
I am trying for a lifestyle changes (Oprah tells me to say that) as opposed to a diet. Carb free doesn't work for me and tiny portions of food don't either.

Glad that you understand a lifestyle change is the key. I still have trouble not saying the word diet. Actually diet is used to describe what we eat. We have altered what that word really means. We have now changed the meaning into meaning restriction more or less.

i think you are right-that is just my opinion-but the more i read and listen and ask questions the more confused i get! i think my problem is i listen to what people are using as their own opinions! i think everybody's body works differently-and foods do different things to certain people! sometimes people make it too hard-i think eat less, move more! all of it is pretty hard though! even if you have just 10 pounds to lose! i guess this is my 2 cents worth!
