My hubby needed to pick up doughnuts this morning for a company meeting. I declined, but then got depressed. This is so dang hard. I have been doing this for so long and it gets old...
(Please know, I am just venting...not falling off the wagon.) So, bottom line, I did what I had to do to maintain my lifestyle...I said no, and came to work and had a protein shake. But, it's not to say that at times I don't think 'what the heck'...but I try to save that for the weekend so that all week I have clean eating. I also know I have vacation coming up and plan to indulge in wonderful foods with APPROPRIATE portion sizes. THAT'S what I am going to focus on...not on what I CAN'T have...but that I can have whatever I want, with the correct portion. I plan on taking in about 500 extra calories a day, but I am also PROMISING myself to get in exercise EVERY day to offset what I eat.
Whew, so thanks for listening to me...
Amanda

I hear you, Amanda, it IS hard! I was having the same feelings as you on Saturday. But unlike you, I made a bad choice and gave into those emotions. (What would Dr. Phil say!!!). I am proud of you for overcoming the negative feelings!

We all have those "donut days" when we yearn to be like we were when we were carefree and fat--"Donut? Sure! Oh hell, give me two! "
You made an excellent choice Amanada! I like the way you reasoned that you were saving yourself for your vacation and your scheduled weekend treats. You should be very proud of how far you've come! The satisfaction of being in control of your mind and body, is far more important and ultimately more satisfying than five minutes chewing on a donut at that very minute.
