Okay as a child I was tormented beyond belief. When I was 4 the little boys the my babysitter had would take me hold me down and beat me and try to suffocate me. Cause they said I was too fat to live in this world. Well because of that I figured that was so and I justate more ot hide from it. Well I used food as amy safety net and its like those plush things and blankets we has when we were little its hard to let them go. Well I was fat in my older childhood as well and kids made it the main point of there day to make fun of the "fat" kids. I am now 15 years old I know I am still "growing" but I am still depressed I eat when I am depressed and I am tired of it I am 180 I use to be 217lbs. But I have managed to get that off. Well I need help on loosing that last 40 pounds. I am very bored right now and so I eat. I am also a lacto ovo veggie. Plus I already have bad knees so this is not how I want to live my life in pain and in misery so would alyone please tell me somethings to do that would help me stay busy and notcost too much money. Me dad is getting a membership to the PAC a gym near me house. Thanxs Love All Hate NONE!

Not to avoid your question ... but why did'nt you report the abuse you received from the babysitter to your parents? I also suffered from depression and had to go through thearpy to fully understand the reason why I over induldged in eating. I also found this wonderful website to help me when I become depressed and to help me deal with some of the issues that I face from day to day. The website address is www.wholepersoncounseling.org/menu.html. Hand in their and CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss.

You sound very mature for your age, very intelligent and like a very nice person. Plus you've already managed to lose 37 pounds on your own which means you are very determined and disciplined. I think that is all very impressive. I hope you find a type of exercise that you enjoy. I think you will be successful and meet your goals. I get a lot of good tips by reading this board. Take care.

Kids can be so cruel really. I think though you have got into a bit of a viscious cycle though with the depression and over eating. One has caused the other--i.e. e.being overweight has attracted the wrong kind of attention and comments and this has caused you to turn to food for consolation as you sound like you know. recognizing what has happened is half the battle won really. That's because the only person who can break that cycle is you. No one else can change things for you. As much as it would be great if we lived in a world where everyone would not make cruel comments, this is never going to be possible and deep down I think that you know that. So you obviously realized that you have to turn that around. How nice that your father is in support of you by getting you gym membership and that you have come along and shown your willingness to make a change by even just posting here.
The minute you post it is in a sense setting yourself a goal because you are letting other's know of your commitment to changing your life and health.
Regards,
Anne-Marie

I think you are doing all the right things. Just by posting this you are helping yourself by sharing something that might be hard to say. The more you open up, the weaker the hold it will have on you!
You have also lost 40 pounds!! That is an inspiration to me.
The vicious cycle of overeating-obesity-depression-overeating... is clear. What is encouraging is that some of the same things that help depression also help obesity. (Exercise, good foods, etc.) I try to think of the immediate gratification I will gain by exercising, such as feeling energetic and happy, as well as the long term goal of losing all that weight!
Keep it up Jyne. You will make it if you take it one day at a time!
