Does anyone out there take a day off once a week from counting calories and being overly aware of what goes into your mouth during the course of the day? Will it wreck your week if you do this? Do you find it helpful to stay on track or does it put you off track each time you do this?
I suppose it just matters in terms of the accumulated calories over the course of the week. Right? Anyway, input would be helpful!! Thanks.

I take one day off from working out...each week, but I still watch what I eat...however a day off from watching what you eat won't hurt what you are doing...as long as it is ONE day...but I would suggest maybe one day every 2 weeks, that way you are only eating "out of control as I call it" for approx. 2 days out of a month.
Averages at the end of the week can be greatly affected if you do this each week....so be careful about doing it every week.

You'll probablly get lots of feedback on this one... I've notice some do, and some NEVER do! Which is fine, it's what works for the individual...some never have to eat choclate and some would go nuts w/out a periodic choclate fix...just an example.
I personally do take a "day off". Right or wrong I call it my cheat day, it's friday's by the way. I LOVE icecream, so every Friday I eat my Healthy Choice icecream. I have to admit, there was a time when my cheat day was getting out of control and spilling over into Saturday or even Sunday! But I tweaked it a little and pretty much keep it reigned in. The only other thing that's different about my cheat day are things like a Happy Meal from Mc..you know who. Any other day it would be a plain hamburger Happy Meal on my cheat day I'll get a CHEESEburger Happy Meal ha-ha things like that... If you decide to have a day off I would recommend you make is a custom fit! A break that you can enjoy and yet not get out of control!

It won't wreck your week unless your cheat day consists of you going to McDonalds and getting 7 Big Macs. You'll probably feel better about yourself if you moderate even your "cheat" days.

Well for me getting back in shape and losing weight is Fun!! yea im a dork
So "taking a day off"...makes it sound like a job... If you are planning on maintaining your ideal weight once you get there, you still need to count your calories and watch yourself..so I dont like thinking of losing in the same perspective thatyou would see your job...
The reward for this "job" is much greater than any paycheck..
anyway just my 2cp

i cheat on saturdays....i wont eat pizza, or fast foods purely coz they make me sick...but i will indulge in chocolate and potatoe crisps or ice cream or lollies...sometimes they get out of control if u let them..it feels like you have to stuff yourself in one day coz u wont see any 'good' food for a week...but if u make em a moderate cheat day then thats fine...have a small pack of chips and share a block of choccy with the other half and your laughing
