Hey everyone!
Almost everyday I have a 20 oz Pepsi. I live basically 20 minutes away from the where Pepsi was born =) good 'ol New Bern, NC.
Anyways, I have figured out somethin' ... I thought about the calories that are in my 20 oz. The calories are 250 for the whole thing. Well I know how people say cut 500 calories out of a diet per day and you'll lose that extra pound a week. Well heck, I could lose 1/2 a pound just by not drinkin' my regular Pepsi!!
Just figured I'd share my phenomenon with you guys!
Angel
It's weird how drinkin' flavored/colored sugar water can add on the pounds =)

I have never been much of a soda drinker, but my hubby recently introduced me to Vanilla Coke which I really liked. I only indulge in 2 12 oz. cans a week. Jill

Yes, you are so right... The easiest way to cut calories is to cut LIQUID calories. You will not feel any hungrier, and you save calories!
The first thing I did when I decided to lose weight is I stopped drinking soft drinks, and started drinking water instead. The funny thing is that after not drinking them for a while I no longer like them... Recently I'd get a coke in a restaurant a couple of times, and it tasted nauseatingly sweet to me...

Like Melanie, I stopped drinking soda and substituted water, and an occasional warm cup of gren tea. Nowadays, I can't drink soda either, since it does taste way too sweet, and so it's not something I miss. As for Angel's soda, I did the math, and was simply amazed! Since it was "Almost every day", I worked with 5 days per week only, which is 260 days! If we times that by the calories in that 20 oz soda (was it 200???) we get 200 X 260, which is a massive 52,000 calories in a year. Dividing 52,000 by 3,500 means an almost 15 lb weight loss in one year!!! Wow, I guess we really shouldn't drink our calories!!! Since that was only 200 calories a day. it looks as though all the small stuff -- a pat of butter, a spoonful of mayo, 1/4 cup of gravy, a tablespoon of cream in a cup of coffee, etc may really be the cause of a lot of weight gain. Hey, maybe we should sweat the small stuff...what do you think :-) Hope everyone is having a good day, Cheers, Dee
