I've been on this site for a while now. Some of the posts people write have words I've never heard of. The dialect is different. I live in the U.S., in Virginia. It seems most of you guys on here are from elsewhere. I was just curious where you guys may live.

Jersey Girl myself, Beserkerfork!...LOL...South Jersey - aka beach girl, Victorian houses, summer tourists, farm-fresh produce and such - though.
Michelle
P.S.
There was a similar post to this months ago - I know Dee's a California girl with English origins (Manchester area, was it?); Tracy, fomerly known as Angel is somewhere from the south (Louisiana, I think ?) and GymMachine is from "Down Under" (Melbourne area?). Katie P who pops up now and then is a mental health professional from San Francisco, CA. Of course, leany's from Canada - but she already posted that herself.

Hi Ya,
I live in Southern California, not too far from Disneyland, and not too far from the beach! I have been here in this area since about 1983, but originally hail from Norhtern England. I was born in the city of Leeds (bitter acid-like rivalry between the Leeds and the Manchester pro soccer teams), but moved to the beutiful town of Harrogate when i was 17, and then came to the US in 1982. My husband is a Chinese who came here in 1985, and my kids are bona bona-fide Californians! Cheers, Dee

As I said, why not :-) Wnen you live close to Disneyland, Knotts Berry farm (biggest wooden roller coaster in the world, and a cool Cowboy town), Universal Studios (not that close, but an east freeway drive), and all the beach cities, you get PILES of visitors!!! We have a really big guest room at the back of the house that has its own bathroom (and a door to the outside), so we put a little fridge in there, as well as a microwave oven, and a TV, and we don't use it for anything, so that I don't have to hustle around cleaning when company comes!! The record is held by our neice and nephew who came last summer, and stayed for 8 weeks, though the 2 sons of some friends of ours in Asia came for 6 weeks, and my cousin and her husband always come for 3 weeks!! As for there being seven of you, the most we have accomodated was 9 people (mix of adults and kids) one weekend last fall...there were so many beds set up in the guest room that they had to crawl over the beds to get to the toilet!!!! Jeepers, good thing I don't mind cooking, huh? I guess I love the ocean, so i understand why people come to visit, and I don't mind...plus my kids enjoy company! Cheers, Dee

I guess it's more people from the states on here than I thought. To the California people, I'd love to visit California. To the Canadians, you can have it! I visited my brother-n-law earlier this month in Minnesota. Minnesota is right below Canada. Whew! It's too cold for me. I wouldn't mind visiting Canada though, for the French food of course :)

How many children do you have? I have 3 of my own and 2 step-daughters.
Their ages??...4,5,6,7, and 9. 4 girls and 1 boy. What a houseful! Two of the children have the same name even! His oldest and my oldest are both named "Paige" Coincedence, huh? Have a great day, Dee! Jamie

I was just wondering the same thing myself, thanks for asking the question so we can all know. I know I'm new to the site, but I'm here to stay so you all might as well know that I'm from Northern California, between San Francisco and Sacramento. Born and raised.

Hi lady,
Despite my age (who's counting) I have 3 kids, and they are 6 year old triplets. It is great fun having 3 kids the exact same age, and I wouldn't mind one more, but can't have any more now :-( Cheers, Dee

Hey,
Glad you like the sound of California...we have such a good time here on the weekends, and the winters are really nice, though it is raining today. YEAH, RAIN...the grass needs it badly, as do our fruit trees, and the poor sycamore trees out front.
Cheers, Dee

Soooooooooo sorry, Dee. I was previously engaged to a guy from Leeds - hate his guts until present, and that's why I probably automatically put Manchester (arch rival that it is) in my memory instead!
Leeds is a really nice place. Friendly people, not like London-ers at all.

I live in Massachusetts with my husband of 14 yrs. and my son, 12. I've had eating problems forever and have lost 30 pounds in the past 15 months for a total of 50 pounds. I feel that I'm a hard core case and that if I can lose weight, pretty much anyone can. Anyway, I'm working hard to maintain my weight now by avoiding such pitfalls as nighttime eating, holidays, etc.
I have a degree in math from a state university in Florida, have worked in comp. science and am taking time off now to work on my tennis game and running while being available to arrange my son's tennis coaching.
