 Creatine

I was looking on the container for the Cell Tech (creatine I bought). It has 300 calories per serving, and 75 grams of sugar. Holy $%^&. I didn't know that! For my 1st 5 days, I have to take it twice a day. Along with my protein this week, I will be getting in 930 calories from supplements alone! That is a lot! I guess I'll have to concntrate on the 3 main meals, and use those as more or less, snacks so to speak, due to my calorie restrictions. Any suggestions or comments on this, will help. The 75 grams of sugar blew me away! I guess that's why it says to use it once in the morning and then 12 hours later, or right after a workout. I guess it'll restore glycogen, after a workout.

Creatine is hard to absorb, that's why the high dose twice a day with carbohydrates to help drive it into the muscle, especially after a workout.

Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning textbook, 2nd edition, about $65 US, is well worth the investment for pros and cons of any aspect of resistance and aerobic training. If you can spring for it, it will pay you back in saved money as well as more to show for it.

Makes since, but the twice a day is only for the 5 day loading phase. After that, it's once a day. Another thing, every supplement I take says 1 dose should be taken after training. I understand that too, but I am taking creatine, protein, and L-glutamine. I guess everything will get to where it's supposed to go! :)

Just be aware that some people do not absorb creatine from supplementation. Some respond and some don't. For me it was very marginal, so I don't bother with it anymore. I'll be glad when I can take those calories in food! Come on July.

Creatine is a supplement that adds water to your muscles..and it also give you more energy to do more in your workouts...Hence...better muscle growth...but once the water is gone...you get the lean muscle that you were able to grow more efficiently with the help of Creatine.

yep ur right waveswife lol

Derrick - .....thats alot of cals....dont need em man lol....micronised creatine, pure in its form has no calories...its creatine, something the body makes..what cell-tech or nitro-tech or whatever they are called have done is add glucose to your mix, and added too much...next time u buy creatine buy it in its pure form and micronised (quicker, easier absorbtion)...make sure theres no cals...whilst its true u have to have a high glycemic carb with it to absorb this is at your own discretion...a bottle of gatorade which is about 65 cals or something, plus 0 cals from creatine will add up to,,,,65 cals lol....call it cheeky marketing to add glucose to their mixes...whilst u need it they put in too much...but your right make the creatine u have now, with protein as a midday snack....and believe me u dont need the loading phase if u dont want too...you will end up with the same results in 2 weeks time, rather then 5 days...it just depends how quick u want those results at cost to how much u use...at the loading phase your taking in alot of glucose per day...too much i think...i rekon stick to 5 grams after your workout in water with protein and thats it..coz your right those cals do add up...next time your shopping for creatine make sure its micronised with 0 cals,,,,these additives they put in their are high glycemic like you need, but you dont need as much as they put in there.
