Controversy is a necessary evil ...

Hi Everyone!

I just hope that everyone is HAPPY up here. So much controversy going on and I can imagine some blood pressure issues are arising as well.

I just hope that everyone understands that sometimes in life there has to be neccesary criticism. It's neccesary because you need to know the good and bad parts of any issue that is being confronted.

Also, I've noticed that everyone is backing what they say with facts. That's a great thing to do. I personally didn't know as much information as I would have liked to have known. So i'm reading these posts and coming up with my own opinion and I'm thankful for everyone who posts. No matter what the issue it still is helpful to learn new information.

I think it's not right to tell someone to leave this board. That's like telling someone with a broke leg that they can't get help at the hospital because they don't like the procedures that take place there.

Also, I beg of everyone here to consider that everyone on the board comes from different areas of the world. We are all different and the way one person talks or comes off may be considered helpful where they come from.

I guess this is another mercy plea for everyone to just play nice (so to speak).

I respect everyone and I'm welcome to all ideas and anyone who wants to battle any of my opinions, please do so because you may know something that I wasn't aware of.

Thank you all and now I have a question. First, I would like to say I'm sorry for such a long post just to get to this little question but I felt it was necessary to give my opinion on the subject that was before mentioned. Secondly, my question is whether or not to count the tomato as a fruit or vegetable. I know that "technically" it's a fruit but everyone counts it in the vegetables for consumption. Just a curious question is all. =)

Have a great day everyone, ... please.

Fine its not right to tell somebody to leave the board. Is it right to be attacked for your opinions? Is it right to be called ignorant and other things, to be patronized and condesended to when you do agree with somebodies opinions. Its WAY past criticism. It is now a matter of manners, and the lack of.......Ang

I'm not mad at you sweetie.........I'm mad because there is no mediation on this board, therefore abusive people aren't repremanded. We just have to put up with it, and that's not fair.

I agree with you Tracy. Thanks for your opinion. I just hope everyone will vigorously and wholeheartedly state their opinions without getting to the point of attacking another. We can disagree. Disagreement can be healthy. And if someone wants to "harp on" a particular subject, let them. But I try to remember I am not here to lecture others, just to offer support, maybe shed what little light I have on the subject, and to receive the same in kind. One thing you said that I really haven't thought of before (when I felt someone was being nasty) is that we "come from different parts of the world..." and we might misinterpret what another says because of that cultural difference. I might have been applying a "southern code of manners" to someone who has an entirely different set of conduct rules than I! I, for one, will try not to be offended as long as someone doesn't call me "fatso"! :-) The "Golden Rule" is a pretty universal idea, no matter what your religion or culture. Let's all try to talk to others as we would like them to speak to us.
Sorry, no idea about the tomato thing. I just know I have been hearing so much about how we should eat them daily. (Especially men, but we women should too.) I just wish I liked 'em uncooked!
