Things I've learned from this board:
Drink lots of water, it will help you lose weight.
It does not matter how much water you drink, it won't help you lose weight
Conclusion - if the water makes you feel full and keeps you from over eating then "drink lots of water".
You have to eat only healthy foods to lose weight.
You can eat anything you want and still lose weight.
Conclusion - calories in must be less than calories out -bottom line.
You have to exercise to lose weight.
You really don't have to exercise to lose weight - just eat less than you burn each day to lose weight.
Conclusion - You can't "burn" your way to weight loss. Exercise in moderation to maintain your overall health.
Cut down on carbs - you'll lose weight faster
Eat your carbs. - you need them for energy
Conclusion - ??? Eat a normal amount of carbs.
Eat six evenly spaces meals a day
Eat anytime you want
Conclusion - calories in - calories out, doesn't matter when you eat them
Get your whole family to join you in your "new lifestyle"
You have to do it alone, no one else can help you
Conclusion - ultimately, you are in this alone, help from others in appreciated but not necessary.
Exercise and you can get rid of the flabby skin left over from weight loss
No amount of exercise will get rid of flab.
Conclusion - live with what you end up with!
A thinner body will make you very, very happy.
Weight loss will not solve your problems.
Conclusion - Thinner is better, makes the rest of life's problems a little easier to handle.
Have I got any of these wrong?
Did I leave anything out?
