 Cold all the time!

I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem....

Before I started losing weight, I was always warm no matter what I was doing. I couldn't even sit at work without a fan blowing on me. Now that I have lost 54-lbs I am always cold! I have to wear long sleeved shirts, jackets and sweaters to keep warm.

Is it the weight-loss that is doing this? Did my body get used to that extra insulation (fat!), and now it can't seem to re-regulate itself?

Hi I've lost about the same amount of weight as you have and am cold most of the time now. I used to go have the winter with just a heavy sweater - now I'm layered all the time. How much weight are you down to - I'm about 130 lbs now and aiming for 125.

I just browsed through this site today for the first time and must say the whole programme sounds promissing. However, the coldness and freezing you guys are talking about is of some concern to me. I am always cold too, but I know why: I'm anemic. You should get your blood and iron levels checked at a doctor's. Most probably you might have gone a little overboard with the programme and cut out too much neccessary food (or it just happened).Anyway get it checked out, I'm taking iron pills and hope to get better soon (although I have been on and off this condition for 5 years now, I'm still not giving up!). Good Luck!

I am cold all of the time too. However, I was just at the doctor 2 weeks ago and my iron is fine. My husband used to sweat in the winter and wear shorts any time he could, and now (180 pounds lower) he wears sweatshirts and turtlenecks!! I have never known him to wear a turtleneck in my life!!

I don't know if being cold is normal, but it seems like it happens to a lot of people who have lost weight.

I've lost 76 pounds and I'm always cold. In fact, this summer will probably be my best yet (not so sweaty!!).

I have the same problem, though I have not lost nearly as much weight as most of you. My iron is fine, however I think this was addressed some time ago and that there actually was research that found that as a person lost weight their temperature went down as well. Not sure, I will see if I can find that.

I think if must have something to do with weight. Before I ever even thought I would EVER have to lose weight, I weighed about 98 pounds MAX. I was always cold, never even broke a sweat in the summer. Well, when I ballooned up to the 130's, I was always hot. I was hot when I usually never had been. NOW, I've lost 10 pounds and I'm back to being cold most of the time.
