 Coffee House Dilemma
Author: alexis

This is my first post how exciting! I am a college student and occasionally frequent the local coffee houses in my college town. However, i will be moving back home in a few weeks and know that my coffee house visits will become a regular occurance. My question for you all is: do you have any healthy menu suggestions that would allow me to still hit up the coffee places with my friends, but avoid the nasty aftereffects of coffee.

Oh yes i should probably inform you all of my summer plans...i like to call it a healthy adventure. I am not really hoping to lose weight (although if i do that is just great too), just become healthier (working out regularly/eating right) both physically and mentally. So any helpful suggestions anyone can lend my way would be much appreciated.

Alexis

Lol, I am not a coffee drinker whatsoever! I can't stomach it at all. Therefore, I know nothing about it. But, I DO want to encourage you to eat a little more protein and a little less sugar as you are working towards becoming more fit. I think it's an awesome summer goal. Good luck!

Can you get fruit smoothies at a coffehouse instead?

Just because it`s called a coffe house doesn`t mean you have to order a latte grande he,he,he...Many coffee house these days now cater to the needs of healthy minded customers...

Order tea instead or if you must have the coffee have the decaf...
If the tought of decaf turns you off ask for half decaf and half regular...Cut down on the sugar a little bit at a time and before you know it you get used to the less sugar taste...

As for foods, check out the better choices such as whole grain or bran blueberry, carrot or cranberry muffins ...They will still be high in cals but still better then chocolate fudge donut!

The selction of beverages is quite interesting and you could chose fruit juice instead...Check the menu and take it from there...

And if you decide to go for the latte grande then walk some extra steps that day!! Enjoy your summer...G
