I'm trying to stay away from chocolate. Some days I don't have a problem with it at all, but other days I'm craving it madly. On the days that I am craving chocolate, am I missing a certain nutrition and/or vitamins? Please help!

I personally think if you have the craving (this is how I am) you just keep having it till it is filled. I found the following earlier on Fitnessmagazine.com -
http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/media/food_and_nutrition/candybar.pdf
It gives a list of candy bars that have lower fat. I think chocolate must be just one of those things that is in it's own group (no vitamin supliment, to bad it would be less calories lol).
Another idea is to have a cup of low cal. hot cocca?? Maybe that will help to curb the cravings! Good luck :-)

cocoa powder is virtually calorie-free (12 cals for a tablespoon). Though it is unsweetened, it can be added to thigns to give that chocolatey taste. I love adding cocoa powder to my marshmallow krispie squares. These are low fat to begin with, and the unsweetened cocoa tames down the super sweetnes of the marshmallows. Plus it's chocolate!
You may also want to try keeping some really good chocolates hidden somewhere (like a freezer in the basement) that you can have one whenever you are craving. I find the better quality the chocolate, the more satisfying.
And finally, if you absolutely HAVE to have a chocolate bar, try substituting it with a slimfast or ww bar or the like. Some of them are really good. The SlimFast peanutbutter crunch bar is almost identical in taste to the Crispy Crunch bar (but with low calories - or only 2 points). Also, I have read that the three musketeers bar is either low cal, or has a low cal version.
The website dwlz.com (Debbie's weight loss zone) is dedicated to weight watchers and the points associated with brand name and restaurant food. If you are at all familiar with WW, this may be helpful in finding something chocolate but not too bad for you.
Good luck.

The one thing I use to satisfy those cravings are See's Chocolate Lollypops. They take awhile to consume because I can't bite into them, and by the time I can, I have had my fix.

I don't know if this really works, it only works sometimes for me, and it's also not very good diet wise, but if I crave something very often, I'll get a lot of it and eat it all at once, that way I get sick of it and don't want it for a while. Or you can buy a REALLY sweet chocolate, like the type of chocolate cake icing or something super sweet that makes your teeth hurt, and eat a bunch of it. I don't think this works for everyone but for me I get so sick I don't want it for quite a while and when I do I try to remember the incident.

no your not missing anything its normal to crave sugar/carbs like that because the brain associates chocolate with pleasure and hence...craves it.

Try the Carb Control shakes by EAS. WalMart carries them. The chocolate fudge is awesome! and only 110 calories.
