 Cellulite question
Author: MBAgirl823

First, I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my posting yesterday about the possible point of contention between myself and my boyfriend...I've decided to make a conscious effort NOT to talk about it so much, continue what I'm doing and leave it at that.

Now for the question about cellulite...how does one go about getting rid of or reducing that cottage-cheese lookin' stuff under the skin? Is it diet and water intake or more exercise or a combo of everything? My butt needs a serious makeover!!

Thanks!

that cellulite is just more fat underneath the fat you lost. keep doing your workouts and eating right. that is truly the only thing that will help it. i have friends who are tiny and always have been but they have it too! sorry for the bad news!!!

Smiles, Renee :)

Cellulite is fat stored in adipose tissue. The only way to get rid of it, is to lose the fat stored in that tissue. Diet will take a lot of weight off, but if you REALLY want to get the cellulite off, build muscle mass. Don't worry, you won't bulk like Arnie, but muscles do burn more cals at rest than fat cells do. Start a light weights and/or resistence routine. That should help. Also, drop virtually ALL of the fat out of your diet (I know.... that's not easy) and then your body is forced to used what's stored up. Be diligent and it should come off.

There are people who say that it will never come off, but it will. I had it as a young adult and it came off, and I plan to get rid of it again... if I can ever get the scale to budge :((

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Luna :))

I've started doing more squats using the Smith machine plus walking and stationary lunges. I've also upped my water intake. Any other exercise suggestions for the bootie area? That seems to be the only place I have the cottage cheese!!

I will be SOOOOO glad when it warms up and I can walk outside again!

Ihad a friend who gained 60 lbs with her first child, and had alot of cellulite...she told me she lost it all by eating healthier, excercise, etc. But she said she drank a lot of water to get rid of the cellulite. I don't know if it is true or not, but she is certainly very slim now. Now if only I would take her advice.....:)

get rid of cellulite once its there....its one of those subjects highly debated about its removal...since cellulite is just fat cell shape appearing close to the skin surface, the only thing u can do is lose fat/weight...this may help but u wont totally destroy all 'cheese' on the body....just a hint that squats, or any weights wont rid cellulite....they will make muscles stronger...there is no link from muscle to fat and vice verca which people dont seem to understand...both are totally different 'systems' for lack of a better word...if u want to get rid of the cellulite you have to eat well in calorie restriction, and do alot of cardio to lose fat..thats is your best defense...water should be high on the priority list anyway, so it couldnt hurt to drink your daily amount anyway....
