Any one care for it or eat it? I bought some and added it to an Herbalife Potato Leek soup packet...not bad...BUT DANG it, those little circular bones weird me out a little...and supposedly they say that's where the calcium is, right?

When I do (rarely) eat canned salmon... I remove ALL the bones from the fish! I can NOT make myself eat those bones.... good for ya or not!

Yes, the bones have calcium, but I don't care to eat them. So I buy the skinless, boneless salmon.

I hardly ever use the canned salmond because of those little bones!!! I go thru the entire can bit by bit taking it out...My sister-in-law mostly used it for sandwiches and would just add the entire content to a food processor...G

I like the canned salmon.. but I buy the boneless kind. My main problem is all of the salt... I don't understand how they can have tuna with so little salt but canned salmon has to have all that sodium in it.
Lately I've been buying Zatarain's Alfredo Dinner and adding a can of salmon to it... Works out to like 180 calories a serving... I usually eat 2.5 servings of it. I'm also not very cool. :)

Most often, I drain the can into the cats' dish then remove the chunks of meat with a fork. If you're careful, it'll pull apart and you can find MOST of the bones. I don't like them either, but a few don't hurt.
It is a wonderful lean protein. And economical too.
Tuna on the other hand? I'm learning to choke it down.

Why not grill a fresh salmon filet, then use it as you would the canned stuff? It is much better. I do the same with tuna. I get some fresh tuna steaks and charcoal grill them. Then you can use fat-free mayo and make tuna salad, or just break it up and eat it as a snack.
That stuff in the can is awful. Why torture yourself?

Yeah, I do LOVE fresh salmon and I only tried this because I was at the drug store by my work and it was on sale. I wanted some lean protein to add to my soup and it worked. I probably would try it again. I found a website that has recipes for it too. Not something I would do often, but it worked in a pinch.
Mnn, ok, looks like I will be hitting the fresh fish market this weekend!
