 Weekly Modivation Poll

Well ya'll won't have me here next week since I'll be off with Monique at Disney. Everyone seems to be heading on vacations. I was thinking of what the next holiday was and it's Halloween. First of the dangerous dieting trio of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Well, I was remembering my favorite Halloween.

I was living in Portland, Oregon in an apartment complex. This was when I was in 4th grade. It was also around the big scares like razor blades in apples and the such. So my parents and the other parents in the complex decided instead of letting the kids out to trick or treat, they would convert one of the apartments into a haunted house. Oh they went all out. On Halloween, the kids was kept in one apartment at a party and a Grim Reaper would come and pick 4 kids out to go into the house. So came my time. It was me and three girls going in.What I remember most was in the bathroom. It was dark and when we looked inside, a strobe light came on. Inside the shower stall, My father, dressed up with hockey mask and all, had a chainsaw. The chain of the saw had thick red food dye on it. When he started it up to the rock music blaring, it threw what looked to be blood all over the shower door. We..were..FREAKED! The four of us turned to run. One problem, they put matresses on the floor so it was impossible to run. So the four of us are on the ground trying to get way when the parents, all dressed up came out of the rooms after us. It was great.

What's your favorite Halloween memory?

Didn't write the previous.

I do remember as a kid literally running from door to door with pillow cases full of candy, which may explain some weight problems.

Every year we have a huge halloween party for our kids and their friends, and I always enjoy seeing their creativity. The funniest part is guys that think they are too cool to wear a costume and the girls insist these guys allow themselves to be dressed up or leave. Then they begin dressing the guys in old prom dresses.

It's too funny.

Eric

My favorite Halloween memory is of my children. My husband and I live in the snow-belt region of Pennsylvania. It is not uncommon for us to have snow in mid October.

This particular year, the weather seemed pretty mild and there didn't seem to be a sign of snow. However, that changed as it started snowing on Halloween morning. By the evening when it was time to go trick-or-treating, I had to dig out snow suits, boots, hats, gloves and scarves - we had almost a foot of snow already.

Needless to say, trick-or-treating that year didn't last long, but, my kids were happy enough with the candy they did get!! Plus, I had a bunch left over because we didn't have that many kids!

I don't have any real memorable Halloween stories, I just remember loving to dress up like a princess or a fairy when I was a little girl..........I still do, imagine that! LOL.........

I'm with Renee on this one. I have no halloween memories that jump out at me. I used to love to dress up as a black cat or a witch, every so often I would be a clown and oooooo the candy!

Candied & Caramel Apples..........yummmmmmmmmm!!!! OMG, has anyone tried the caramel dip for apples? It is usually in the produce section. It makes a nice lowfat snack and it is oh so yummy!!!! Give it a try if you haven't already!

I love Halloween!! I guess my favorite memory is of my own children, they are 8 and 5 and I can remember every year from birth up what they've been.We have a party for all our friends and family every year and I just love it.I try to go all out, every thing they eat or drink is green, black, orange,or some other icky color. We bob for apples and dance to the monster mash,it is so fun. :-)

Mine would have to be when we first moved to where I live now and my aunt lived in a subdivision that connected with about 4 others. I have no idea how long I was out but all I remember is bringing home a paper grocery bag FULL to the top with candy...mmmmm, those were the days!! I think I ate Halloween candy until the following Fourth of July! LOL

Hmmmm. I think it would have to be the year my mom made me a bumble bee costume and my sister was a cluster of grapes. She worked so hard on those costumes and they turned out so good. I was rather proud of my mother. Another fond memory was of the year my sister and I were hobos (not meant as a slight to anyone), and we ended up looking more like little look-alike Pippy Longstockings. We were allowed to go out, get our candy, but we had to eat whatever we wanted that next 24 hours. After that, the rest went in the trash. So we usually were rather sick, but proud of ourselves. LOL
