We are all addicted to food for we all have to eat to live. However it is all about choices. As for me I had to slowly make a lifestyle change. I decided to slowly elminate all the bad food I litterally live on, such as giving up sugar pop, then later giving up candy bars. In the meantime I slowly introduce the healthy foods into my diet and slowly started my exercise regime. I have lost 75 lbs this way and I do NOT want to go back. I do eat an occasional candy bar or a pop now and then but I watch it closely. There are other people on this board who can answer your food and exercise question better than I can. Good luck.

All too true...There is no doubt in my mind that we are different than the folks that can eat what they want, when they want and never gain an ounce. It has taken years of attention to every bite that I take, an increase in physical activity and it is still a struggle.
It helps to know that we are not alone. Nearly every posting on this website is from someone who struggles with these issues-some days highly successfully and other days less so.
It truly is a difficult addiction (food) because other substances can be quit "cold turkey" and totally avoided thereafter. We do not have that privilege with food. We must eat to live.
I hope that it helps you to know that others share your problem AND your determination to do something about it. Good luck.
PS-I have had success with positive affirmations (write down your goal in a positive way-15 times a day--think about it and recite it when you are struggling.)
