I posted something a little lower down that kinda didn't sound right to me. I had it in my head that I'd averaged a 1.5 lb weight loss per week. But I think I was leaving out those 'hiatus' months or only counting months I tried hard or some odd mind game.
OK ... what I'm gettin' at here is stick-to-it-iveness. Since April of 2003, when I couldn't do up the funeral pants :) including all the time and all the weight, I lost 3.17 lbs per month. That's only about 3/4 of a pound per month.
Now that might seem discouraging at first, however, it includes a long period of "I just don't care", eating whatever I wanted, another quit smoking attempt, a slip back up to 141 lbs ...
But I'm here. The time would have passed anyway. I probably would have gained at a steady little rate. Instead, I'm here. Long after I thought I'd be, well actually I never thought I'd get this low. My blood pressure is fine, my blood sugar is fine, my cholesteral is fine.
Remember what Don says .... over the long term .... and hang in there!

My blood pressure has dropped to normal. I don't have the results of my cholesterol test back yet, so we'll see if anything I've been doing has helped it. I should get the results any day now.

Tell me more about the funeral pants. The same thing happened to me last weekend. I had to go to a funeral and I don't have very many dress clothes. The only thing I had were a pair of pin stripped dress pants that I bought back in April before I started putting the weight back on. I was able to put them on and everything, but I had camel toes. And I don't have any shirts long enough to cover that area. I was already emotional, due to our loss, and I was so afraid I was going to start crying while getting dressed. But I was also afraid of my husband getting mad at me for crying over something so stupid, especially considering the day we had in store.
It's not like a wedding where you have weeks or even months to figure out what you're going to wear. For funerals you only get a couple of days. And you're so truamatized, that shopping is the last thing on your mind.

He was the father of a friend of ours, so we were going for Marc and his wife more than anything. I'd never met the fellow. So I wasn't too emotional about him ... his was escape from horrible illness.
But the pants! I had two pairs of black pants so no problem, surely one of them would fit?
The biggest ones were the kind with two buttons in the pocket, overlapping, ya know? I had already moved the buttons once. They wouldn't even meet, let alone overlap to the buttons. I had to rig a safety pin and elastic band. I kept my shirt out over and never took my coat off.

Can I give my story about funeral pants....I packed in a daze back on Easter day when I found out I had to drive 17 hrs to go burry(sp) my brother...Once down in N.B. I basically had to go shopping as a way to get out of the house since things were so overwehlming(again sp?) ...Anyhoo I bougth pants that were a size 14 and fitted perfect, they have a bit of stretch in them, then came home and was not caring much about weightloss for a while and then gain some weight back...then last week I pulled the pants out of the closet to go to a meeting and they were about the only thing decent to wear and I had to wear a long shirt with them because they are simply too big now!!! Darn funeral pants...G
