Hi guys!
How are you? I have another question. It is concerning a book I am reading. I tis byEdward Jackowski. It is called "Escape your shape"
I have to say that I am annoyed with it. It apparently tells hourglasses and spoons that you're not really supposed to use the elliptical machine. But tah tis my favorite machine and practically the only thing that keeps me revved up for more workouts.
I don't really understand. I really don't want to make my trouble spots "larger" as he claims. But, I really want to do something I enjoy, adn not have to run on the treadmill.
What should I do?

you have the right to be annoyed with the book...i would say ditch the advice and keep going on the eliptical...the larger she is probably thinking of is more muscle (which wouldnt be a hell of alot anyway because its not being placed under any huge stress in terms of lifting heavy weights)....in fact some might argue it will make your legs look a little more defined....stick to it, especially if its what keeps you going...hell i run with shin splints lol

YES you will burn fat and unless you start strapping real heavy weights to your ankles and thighs you will not bulk up in those areas, it will help the muscles get more toned....You may want to alternate with another machine once a week just to get differant muscles get a turn at getting toned but other then that keep up the good work....Leanbutt

Read the same book around the time I fell "in love" with the elliptical machine too - and I'm an hourglass. I totally ignored it, and kept using it. Especially since it was the friendliest machine to my temperemental ankles. I was around 155 lbs. at that time (around April), and I'm now down to 135 lbs. Only thing that changed after reading the book was I also learned to love to use the exercise bike and jump rope.
Just like any of these "faddish' books, take what you can learn and discard what's obviously junk.
