Unfortunately for me, it is the first area that I lose my weight in. I could do without losing them though! :-)

You generally lose weight all over your body. If you're dropping pounds, you can't decide where they go and where they stay. Personally, I'm happier to be smaller all over, regardless of where the weight came off. : )

I did. I have lost 50 pounds...and one cup size (went from a 40D to a 36C) but I am still happy with that :) Besides, I thought they were forever ruined from breastfeeding and I have proven to myself they aren't. They were just to heavy LOL.

Everybody experiences weight loss differently. Then there's age and genetics to take into consideration.

I can only tell you my experience. I've lost almost 100 pounds in two years and yes, I am large-breasted. As I lost weight, I lost inches around the chest, but, believe it or not, I swear, my cup size has gotten bigger as I've lost. As I lost, I also sagged more. Also, my back has not been able to support them anymore and I have constant spasms in my upper and middle back requiring muscle relaxants - yes, it's that bad!

I'm getting a reduction and lift on 12/10/03 and very much looking forward to it (insurance pays 100%).

The breasts contain some fat tissue, so if you lose fat, some of it may very well come off your breasts (mine did).

Bra sizes are composed of 2 measurements: The girth around your chest below your bust (the number part) and the cup size (the letter part).

To get your bra size you measure around your chest, directly under your bust and add 4" or 5" to make it to the next even number (i.e. If the tape reads 35" if you add 4" it will be 39 and they don't make size 39 bras; so you add 5" to make it 40--that's the first number, or the "band" size)

Then you measure around the full bust circumference and use that number in tandem with the "band" size to determine the "cup" size.

If the Difference between the band size and cup size is less than 1" (band is 40" and the bust is 40.5") then the cup size is AA

1" = A
2" = B
3" = C
4" = D
5" = E or DD
and so on.

So it stands to reason that if you lose fat from around your back and on your boobs, the bra sizes are bound to change as you remove weight.

I know the guys on the board are screaming "Too much information!" at about this point.

Exercises to strengthen the upper back would help would they Shari? Like Seated cable rows and so on...

If you strengthen the upper back and the lower back, technically you should not have the same problem.

Mine have reduced with dieting but then I long to get to the normal size for me when trim. I have been bench pressing though to increase support so they have muscle to sit on.

I'm glad you posted that. I have to measure my daughter up as she is tending to have a larger breast and is squeezing into smaller bra's. She has exceeded my bra size as an adult and we needed to get her correct size really so we can get the right size for support. I figure if we get the bra size right, this will help to provide more support and lessen the strain on her back.
